On January 31, 2013, this picture was taken at a New Year’s Eve party.. I physically and mentally felt worse than I looked in this photo, so I decided to take my friends up on their coupon for Body3 . . . baby steps. Thanks guys. When I had my consultation with Cassandra. I was impressed with the level of attention and the variety of program options.

What’s my goal? “I’m going on a cruise the first week of June and I want to be able to fit into my tux, maybe lose 25 pounds.” By March 1, I could fit into my tux comfortably and by June 1, I surpassed my goal weight by losing 29 pounds. How? Four things: working out with a trainer, maintaining calories using my Fitness Pal, drinking a gallon of water a day, and reducing alcohol intake. I have enjoyed working with Richard, Mike and Rayme. In the beginning, I had to push myself to go to the gym, but now I look forward to working out and staying healthy.

I think my story is pretty typical. I started gaining weight in my 30s and, for the past 10 years, I have been losing and gaining back the same 10 to 12 pounds, never quite reaching my goals, and oftentimes putting on more than I started with. I have tried all kinds of diets and fads, even a couple of personal trainers in the past, but I never got past a certain weight/size before I started gaining back everything I had lost. My frustration about what I saw when I looked in the mirror hit an all time high when I walked into Body 3 Fitness in June.

I felt welcome immediately. I have really never enjoyed working out, but my trainer, Cassandra, has made all the difference. She makes each workout interesting and challenging (but not in the “I want to throw up” kind of way!). We never seem to do the same workout twice, and that makes it easier to keep coming back! I have also had back issues dating back to my 20s, so I was a little nervous about lifting weights when I started. My back pain has disappeared, and that by itself has improved my quality of life! I dropped 2 sizes in the first 2 months, and I no longer feel like I have to sit on the sidelines while my kids are being active. What started out as a weight loss goal has turned into a lifestyle change and I could have never done this without Cassandra and the team at Body 3 Fitness.

Before joining Body3 Fitness Center, I would get up at 5:00AM and just drink coffee, read the paper, and sit on my butt. Now I get up and go to the gym, work out, and I don't sit on my butt very often anymore. The first time Cassandra trained me she said, "always stand straight with your shoulders back"; that was my first good piece of advice. It actually makes you feel better. I've lost body fat, weight, and gained muscle and strength. The other great outcome is that now I have a whole new family around me!

Body3Fit has been a welcoming haven and a friendly place for me to work out. After moving to a new city, in a new job and a new home, living a healthy lifestyle became secondary to long work days, inadequate sleep, and poor food choices. I had no motivation or energy to do anything else. As the pounds on the scale ticked up and my frustration increased, I realized something had to change. I scheduled a consultation with Tom, met the friendly staff, and have never looked back.  

My initial fitness goals were to lose two dress sizes and make it all the way through a cardio class, which I have achieved. Next goals included running a 5K, increasing my endurance, and meeting my trainer’s next challenge.I know at the end of a stressful day, I can walk through the doors of Body3Fit and find welcoming smiles and the encouragement to meet my fitness goals. Before joining, I participated in two Body3 Fitness “challenges”–an individual and a group challenge. I wanted a “quick fix”–mainly to lose some weight so my pants fit better! I enjoyed both challenges and decided that a “quick fix” every now and again was not going to cut it. I want to be "consistently" healthy and fit for the rest of my life. I’m so happy I joined Body3 as a member! The trainers and staff are top notch. They encourage, motivate, and make achieving my fitness goals fun. Body3 is actively focused on improving the lives of all their clients and I’m glad to be one of them. Also, pants are fitting really well now.

Wow—I have really come a long way! I started going to Body 3 because it was close to home and I dislike the large gyms. Body 3 has become my home—I am even doing the accounting for Tom now that he is in Florida. Everyone has been encouraging and Cassandra is awesome (even if she tortures me). It's been a long journey and my weight has yo-yo'd all my adult life. With the assistance of Body 3, I plan to continue this lifestyle and not return to the old me.
